Geldof joins the global effort in support of Ukraine
The continued hostilities have profoundly shocked us and we feel deeply for the millions of innocent people displaced or otherwise affected. Some of our own employees have friends and relatives in Ukraine and are helping them out in several ways. The colleagues from our Polish sister company Poner are trying to trace and contact the families of their 32 Ukrainian workers and bring them to safety in Kepno (500 km from the nearest Ukrainian city of Lviv).
This is why, from 14/03 until 25/03, we are organizing a collection drive at our headquarters in Harelbeke to aid these families. We are gathering all useful items like non-perishable foods, blankets, kitchen utensils, hygiene items, toys and clothing and these will be shipped from Harelbeke to Kepno. There, Poner will distribute the items among the affected families. Anything they don’t have an immediate need for, will be passed on to aid organisations in the region to help other refugees. Together with Poner, we hope all families will be reunited and will be able to return to their home country shortly.
Geldof and Poner have a proud track record of successful cooperation and teamwork. We provide the engineering, prefabrication and project management capabilities, and their skilled welders and fitters perform the assembly on site. The whole Geldof team knew we wanted to help make this rescue project a success too.
Friends and family who wish to contribute, can pass their donation on to a Geldof employee, who will drop the items off at the specially provided site container. You can also contribute simply by liking and sharing this message to increase visibility and awareness.

Update: Together we were able to completely fill two containers with all kinds of (vital) supplies (and lots of love and empathy). One arrived in Kepno, Poland, where our sister company Poner organizes shelter for the affected families of our Ukrainian workers. The other goods were sorted at the Polish/Ukrainian border to be distributed within Ukraine. A small act making a big difference for the families we were able help. Let’s continue our support and hope for an immediate end to this distressing situation!
