Honouring our iron heritage while shaping what comes next

Some time ago, Geldof was approached by French artist Naïmé Perrette. She was asked to create an art installation for the new University of Luxembourg campus. As this campus is built on the former Belval steelworks site of ArcelorMittal in Esch-sur-Alzette, the artwork needed to make a clear reference to the region’s  iron mining and steel industry.

We supplied several 2 mm stainless steel spherical segments, which Naïmé Perrette and her team transformed into the installation Transmutations.

We are proud to have supported a project that not only highlights artistic creativity, but also pays tribute to our shared iron heritage.
