Blending Sustainability with Design: Eneco Heat Buffers in Utrecht

Previously, we reflected on the incredible milestones of Phase 1 of Tata Steel Nederland’s Offgas cleaning installation project. But sustainability is a journey, and Phase 2 is already underway!

What’s new in Phase 2?

This phase features some extraordinary engineering highlights:

  • An Ø8000 reaction duct, one of the largest of its kind, requiring advanced fabrication and logistics.
  • A custom eccentric reducer transitioning from 8000 to 6000 mm, showcasing rare and complex engineering.
  • Precision guide vanes to ensure smooth and efficient gas flow.

Installation is planned during two carefully scheduled plant stops. Thanks to meticulous planning, we’ll minimise downtime while maximising impact.

Phase 2 is a testament to our shared commitment to innovation and sustainability. Together with Tata Steel, we’re proving that heavy industry can build a greener, smarter future.

We’re excited to share this milestone with you—what questions do you have about the project? Let’s keep the conversation going below!
